Bigfoot TV Cabinet and VCR Shelf
When we purchased Bigfoot we used a 9-inch TV/VCR/120 volt/12 volt DC combo unit (Phillips Magnavox) that fit inside Bigfoot's TV cabinet in Bigfoot's bedroom. Unfortunately the unit fell fowl we guess to a voltage spike at a campsite. Based on that experience we decided to use a regular 120-volt 13-inch TV and a stand alone VCR (and a voltage interrupt strip!). The 13-inch TV (Daewoo) fitted nicely inside the cabinet but where to put the VCR. It seemed that the best place for a VCR would be on a shelf (to be built) below the cabinet.
Here are the steps to construct the shelf:
Cut VCR shelf from 3/4 inch plywood (oak veneer, both
sides)

Note: We recently obtained a DVD player. Unfortunately, the DVD player we have is too wide to fit on the shelf we constructed for the VCR. However, there is room beneath the VCR shelf for yet another shelf--which we will construct for the DVD player
